The Somnio Cast & Crew

  • Christopher Soren Kelly

In addition to The Tangle, he is in development for another sci-fi feature called Crossing The Flood and the feature version of the festival-favorite short film, Chasseur.

Cassandra is actually known to her family as Cassie and to her friends as Cass. As if her parents had a premonition, they named her after one of the leading characters from the musical A Chorus Line. She began dancing at an early age, which eventually led to her exciting and blossoming acting career. She decided to leave San Francisco where she was born and raised and moved to Los Angeles, the City of Angels… 365 days of sunshine and too many actors. Cassandra was able to work in the industry for three solid years, booking films such as Somnio and Discarnate. She co-created and directed an award winning web series, Englishman In L.A.

With the encouragement of her theatrical manager, she made the move to New York City during the summer of 2015. After only a few months of auditioning, she booked a role on the new Martin Scorsese produced HBO series Vinyl, which aired this past spring and will next be featured in JJ Abrams produced series, ROADIES, July 2016. • Cajardo Lindsey

Cajardo Lindsey was in his second year at the Indiana University School of Law when the acting bug bit. In the midst of that year, he began to hear the word/thought "Acting". Not once, not twice but several times during the course of the semester.

Cajardo had no frame of reference as to what to do with this word/thought. Until then, he had only seen one play his entire life. Nevertheless, he was intrigued and one particular day decided to act upon it (pun intended). He discovered that Indiana University had an acting department and instead of going to his conflict resolutions law class, Cajardo found himself walking into a destiny. To this day the only explanation Cajardo has to this bizarre change of course is that he was literally called to it.

Fast forward, Cajardo has appeared in numerous stage, television and film production, including the independent sci-fi, psychological thriller Somnio written and directed by Travis Milloy, set to release in 2016.

  • Michael Dwyer

Michael Dwyer studied Physics at university but before long he made a radical switch to Fine Art, in which he graduated having made short films, lithographs, screen prints and rather pretentious art satire pieces. The twin loves of the sciences and the arts have informed his entire life, with science fiction representing the perfect marriage of the two.

Having spent most of his career in the grown-up world of distance learning and online education, he's also found the time over the years to invent an imaginary band that produced home-recorded cassettes and came to be included in "alternative" Seattle-based music compilations; and to perform in a couple of real post-punk bands (drum machine, keyboards and lead vocals) among whose career highlights were to perform at an all-nighter at London's legendary Scala Cinema, to support Liverpool New Wave stars Echo and the Bunnymen, and to be jeered off stage after a couple of numbers by an unappreciative crowd at an ill-chosen upmarket nightclub near the Moulin Rouge in Paris.

He's also contributed various humorous and more serious written pieces to local arts and listings magazines, and done stints as a graveyard-shift local DJ (which entailed bringing in selections from his own record collection and playing anything he liked because nobody was listening anyway).

He provided the first cover design (and indeed the name) of seminal alternative art, music and lifestyle magazine Rapid Eye Movement (later Rapid Eye), to which he also made a number of written, audio and visual contributions.

An avid and lifelong science fiction fan, Michael has devoured hundreds of SF books and films. During a particularly obsessive Philip K Dick reading binge many years ago, when his bookshelves were groaning with the great man's works, he was heard to utter the unfortunate phrases: "I've got about a yard of Dick" and "I must try to wean myself off Dick".

  • Laurie Sheldon

Laurie Sheldon began her career at Universal Studios renting sound stages and back lot locations to outside production companies.

After several years, she decided she wanted to try her hand at production and when the opportunity presented itself, she left the rental world and began working as a writer’s assistant on the television series Quantum Leap. She enjoyed working with independent writer, producer and director Donald P. Bellisario and writer Paul Brown. When Quantum Leap was canceled, she went to work with Scott Bakula’s publicist.

Missing production and her “home away from home” Universal Studios, she was offered a position with Ivan Reitman’s film production company. She embraced casting and film development. Some of the films she worked on were Father’s Day starring Billy Crystal and the late Robin Williams; Road Trip starring Seann William Scott, directed by Todd Phillips; Space Jam starring Michael Jordan, directed by Joe Pytka; and Six Days/Seven Nights starring Harrison Ford and Anne Heche. She was only to be on location on Kauii for one week but stayed for the entire production, working as a liaison between cast and producers. She was known as the “Pirate Wrangler”. Some of those pirates were Danny Trejo, (Machete) Temuera Morrison, (Star Wars-Attack of the Clones as Jango Fett) and a little known actor to the American public of that time, Cliff Curtis (Fear the Walking Dead, Collateral and Risen due for release February, 2016).

Working along side some of Hollywood’s top directors, writers, producers, and talent, Laurie learned from the best. She attributes her success to these fine mentors.

She has made life long friendships with Tom Duffield, Production Designer and legendary stuntman, Diamond Farnsworth to whom each contributed their talents and expertise on Somnio.

A couple of her biggest “Oh, my God” moments were meeting two-time Academy Award winner, William Goldman, writer of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid at a company dinner and the late Olivia Goldsmith, writer of The First Wives Club. Laurie and Olivia became instant friends, and Olivia wrote a “special thank you” for Laurie in her novel Young Wives.

A native of Grosse Pointe Michigan, Duffield traveled to San Luis Obispo, CA. to attend California State Polytechnic University’s School of Architecture. After graduating and working in Architecture, he soon discovered that film design and art direction was personally more rewarding, having learned about the business working at Universal Studios as a tour guide. Making his way through the Art Department ranks on classic films like Bladerunner, he teamed up with Production Designer, Bo Welch in 1986. As Art Director, Duffield collaborated with Welch on 15 films, 3 of which, A Little Princess, Men in Black and The Birdcage were nominated for Academy Awards in Art Direction. Other films Art Directed by Duffield during that period include, The Lost Boys, Beetlejuice, Accidental Tourist, Ghostbusters 2, Edward Scissorhands, Joe vs. the Volcano, Grand Canyon, Batman Returns, Wolf, Primary Colors and Wild, Wild West.

His first film as Production Designer was Tim Burton’s critically acclaimed biopic, Ed Wood. Duffield quickly developed a touch for the fine art of Black & White filmmaking. He designed Gore Verbinski’s thriller hit, The Ring narrowly missing a close encounter with the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001. Then it was on to Peter Berg’s action/comedy The Rundown, again having a close call with disaster in the jungles of Manaus, the capital of the Brazilian Amazon. For that film he created a Brazilian jungle mining town in Los Angeles. He then reunited with Verbinski for The Weather Man, using the City of Chicago in winter as a character in the film. Re-teaming on his next film with Peter Berg for The Kingdom, he recreated downtown Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in Mesa Arizona. Duffield partnered with Director Ron Shelton of Bull Durham fame, designing the Pilot, Houndogs for Warner/TNT. At the end of 2011 Duffield then designed the feature film, Broken City, directed by Allen Hughes. Duffield once again joined up with Director Berg and designed the film, Lone Survivor, based on the best selling book of the same name.

He has just finished, ComancheriaHeart Like a Wheel, playing drag racing queen Shirley Muldowney’s Crew Chief, he became a member of SAG in 1983.

Duffield lent his years of experience and expertise working as a Visual Consultant on Somnio, the independent, sci-fi, psychological thriller, written and directed by Travis Milloy.

Clever and witty, melodic and musically quirky as ever, Olivia Millerschin is feeling a bit "Over The Weather" these days, infusing her latest EP with all the colorful elements (Indie, Folk, Soul) and wry turns of phrase that made her debut, self-produced album "Yes.No.Maybe So" so popular and infectious, leading to its nominations for three 2014 Detroit Music Awards and radio play nationwide.

Only now, the multi-talented singer/songwriter is penning her observational gems from a fresh starting point: 19 years old, one year of college completed and a full year of touring under her belt. The EP's first single "We Know Not" was produced by Andrew Williams (Colbie Caillat, Five For Fighting). Her growing songwriting abilities helped in her recent signing with BMG Fieldhouse Licensing.

Having toured with Teddy Geiger, Tyler Hilton, Orla Gartland, Ryan Cabrera, and Howie Day, Olivia has had a very busy year… not so busy to keep her from winning a JO LENNON Songwriting Award, making the quarter-finals on the NBC reality show America's Got Talent, and embarking on her own 40 city, cross-country college tour.
